Accessibility statement

This website was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 with accessibility designed in rather than retrofitted. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Our commitment

MediBioSense Ltd is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, speech recognition or reduced-motion settings. Accessibility is not a nice-to-have for a company whose users are patients and clinicians.

Conformance status

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We believe it currently meets that standard, though we have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit — so this is a statement of our own assessment, not a certified result.

What we have done

  • Keyboard access throughout. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator that meets contrast requirements. A "skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard user encounters.
  • Semantic structure. Real landmarks, a single logical heading order per page, genuine <table> markup for specification data, and lists marked up as lists.
  • Contrast. Body text and interface elements meet or exceed the 4.5:1 ratio, including on dark sections.
  • Reduced motion. All animation on this site is decorative and is switched off entirely when your operating system requests reduced motion.
  • Text resizing and reflow. Content reflows to a single column and remains readable at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling. You can change colours, contrast and fonts in your browser without breaking the layout.
  • Meaningful alternatives. Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced.
  • No time limits, no auto-playing media, no carousels.

What changed from the previous website.

Our earlier accessibility statement listed a number of known problems: no skip-to-content link, contact forms that were difficult to navigate by keyboard, text that did not reflow into a single column, and line spacing that could not be adjusted. The rebuild resolves all of those. The contact form has been removed entirely in favour of a direct email link, which is simpler to operate with any assistive technology.

Known limitations

We are being straight about what is not yet resolved:

  • Older PDF documents. Sample clinical reports published before 2023 were not produced as tagged, accessible PDFs and may not read well with a screen reader. If you need the content of any document in an accessible format, ask us and we will provide it.
  • Third-party video. Videos hosted on our YouTube channel rely on YouTube's own player and captioning. Not all older videos are captioned.
  • No independent audit yet. We intend to commission one; until then, treat the conformance claim above as self-assessed.

Enforcement

If you contact us with a complaint and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). We would much rather resolve it directly.
